छठ पूजा : घर बुलाता है यानि भावनाओं से भरा हुआ पर्व

छठ पूजा ये सिर्फ एक पर्व नहीं हैं ये हर एक पूर्वाचल , बिहार , झारखंड , नेपाल के तराई क्षेत्रों के लिए एक Emotions हैं। बाहर गए हुए हर उस इंसान के लिए ये घर जाने का एक Reason होता हैं। चाहे वो बाहर पढ़ने गया हो Student हो या कमाने गया घर का सदस्य । आखिर ऐसा क्या है इस पर्व में जो इसका एतना बड़ा महत्व हैं तो चलिये बताता हूँ। वो कहावत तो सुनी ही होगी आप सबने कि " उगते सूरज को तो सब राम राम करते हैं" लेकिन आपको जानकर हैरानी होगी इस त्योहार में सबसे पहले डूबते सूरज की पूजा की जाती हैं। इससे पता चलता है कि डूबते हुये इंसान भी जीवन में बहुत कुछ सीखा सकता है और उसका भी बहुत ज्यादा महत्व हैं, हालाकिं इसका हर कोई अलग अलग मतलब निकाल सकता हैं। चलिये जानते है कि आखिर क्यों छठ पर घर न जाने का दर्द किसी अपने से बिछड्ने से ज्यादा बड़ा दुख देती है जो भी इस त्योहार को मानता है। 

आखिर क्यों मनाया जाता हैं छठ का ये महापर्व और क्या इसके पीछे की कहानी 

छठ सिर्फ एक पर्व नहीं है, बल्कि महापर्व है, जो पूरे चार दिन तक चलता है। नहाए-खाए से इसकी शुरुआत होती है, जो डूबते और उगते हुए सूर्य को अर्घ्य देकर समाप्त होती है। ये पर्व साल में दो बार मनाया जाता है। पहली बार चैत्र में और दूसरी बार कार्तिक में। चैत्र शुक्ल पक्ष षष्ठी पर मनाए जाने वाले छठ पर्व को 'चैती छठ' और कार्तिक शुक्ल पक्ष षष्ठी पर मनाए जाने वाले पर्व को 'कार्तिकी छठ' कहा जाता है। पारिवारिक सुख-समृद्धि और मनोवांछित फल प्राप्ति के लिए ये पर्व मनाया जाता है। इसका एक अलग ऐतिहासिक महत्व भी है।

माता सीता ने भी की थी सूर्यदेव की पूजा

पुराणों के अनुसार जब राम-सीता 14 साल के वनवास के बाद अयोध्या लौटे थे, तब रावण वध के पाप से मुक्त होने के लिए उन्होंने ऋषि-मुनियों के आदेश पर राजसूर्य यज्ञ करने का फैसला लिया। पूजा के लिए उन्होंने मुग्दल ऋषि को आमंत्रित किया। मुग्दल ऋषि ने मां सीता पर गंगाजल छिड़ककर पवित्र किया और कार्तिक मास के शुक्ल पक्ष की षष्ठी तिथि को सूर्यदेव की उपासना करने का आदेश दिया। इससे सीता ने मुग्दल ऋषि के आश्रम में रहकर छह दिनों तक सूर्यदेव भगवान की पूजा की थी। सप्तमी को सूर्योदय के समय फिर से अनुष्ठान कर सूर्यदेव से आशीर्वाद प्राप्त किया था।

आखिर कब हुई थी छठ पर्व की शुरुआत

हिंदू मान्यता के मुताबिक, कथा प्रचलित है कि छठ पर्व की शुरुआत महाभारत काल से हुई थी। इस पर्व को सबसे पहले सूर्यपुत्र कर्ण ने सूर्य की पूजा करके शुरू किया था। कहा जाता है कि कर्ण भगवान सूर्य के परम भक्त थे और वो रोज घंटों तक पानी में खड़े होकर उन्हें अर्घ्य देते थे। सूर्य की कृपा से ही वह महान योद्धा बने। आज भी छठ में अर्घ्य दान की यही परंपरा प्रचलित है। पुराणों के अनुसार जब पांडव सारा राजपाठ जुए में हार गए, तब द्रोपदी ने छठ व्रत रखा था। इस व्रत से उनकी मनोकामना पूरी हुई थी और पांडवों को सब कुछ वापस मिल गया। लोक परंपरा के अनुसार, सूर्य देव और छठी मईया का संबंध भाई-बहन का है। इसलिए छठ के मौके पर सूर्य की आराधना फलदायी मानी गई।

विदेशों में भी की जाती है पूजा 

भारत के साथ ही अमेरिका, जापाना सहित कई देशों में सूर्य की उपासना की जाती है. मध्य अमेरिका के लोग सूर्य को तोनातिहू के रूप में पूजते हैं. यहां माना जाता है कि सूर्य फसलों को खुशहाली देते हैं और इंसानों को जीवन. वहीं जापान में सूर्य को माता के रूप में पूजा जाता है. उन्हें संपूर्ण ब्रह्मांड की भी देवी माना गया है. जापान के होनशू द्वीप पर इनका मंदिर है.इरान में भी सूर्य को ईश्वर माना गया है. ग्रीक और रोमन लोग मित्रदेव जिसका जिक्र हिंदू पुराणों में भी है, को सूर्य का ही प्रतीक मानते हैं. माना जाता है कि ‘मित्र’ की उत्पत्ति ब्रह्मांड में स्वयं ही एक गुफा के भीतर 25 दिसंबर को हुई और उनपर किसी का वश नहीं चलता. वहीं मिस्त्र में उगते हुए सूर्य को होरुस दोपहर के सूर्य को रा कहा जाता है. मिस्र के लोगों के अनुसार दुनिया पर रा का ही राज है और यह बाज का सिर लिए पूरी दुनिया की चौकसी और इंसान का असुरों से संरक्षण कर रहे हैं. यूनानी गाथाओं में अपोलो को ईश्वर के समकक्ष तो दर्जा दिया गया लेकिन सूर्य के रथ के साथ वो दृष्टिगोचर नहीं हुए. दूसरी ओर रोमन लोगों ने अपालो की तुलना सूर्य से की और उनकी पूजा सूर्य रूप में ही की जाने लगी.महापर्व छठ की महता के कारण लोग इससे जुड़ते चले गए. इस मौके पर बाहर काम कर रहे लोग भी अपने घर लौट आते हैं और पूरे परिवार के साथ इस महापर्व को मनाया जाता है. हर साल दिवाली से छठे दिन छठ पूजा का आयोजन होता है. इस साल भी छठ पूजा को लेकर लोगों का उत्साह चरम पर है.

भावनाओं का संसार हैं छठ 

आज के समय में छठ सिर्फ देश ही नहीं विदेशों में भी बड़े धूम धाम से मनाया जाता हैं। इसकी पहचान महापर्व के रूप में बन चुकी है। 4 दिन में से 48 घंटे निर्जल व्रत और इसकी कठिन पूजा इसको दुनिया का सबसे कठिन त्योहार बना देती है। ठेकुया इसके आगे तो सारी मिठाइयाँ बेकार हो जाती है, मीठी गुड़ वाली खीर उफ़्फ़ मुझे तो लिखते हुये मुंह में पानी आ गया हैं। आपने कभी खुशी कभी गम फिल्म में देखा ही होगा कैसे माँ आरती की थाली लेकर बेटे का वेट कर रही होती है वैसे ही छठ में इंतज़ार होता है अब इनता होगा तो भावनाओं का समुन्द्र तो बनेगा ही न  चलिये अब आप भी इस महापर्व का लुफ्त उठाए और ठेकुया खाये , छठ घाट जाए और बेशक आप छठ नहीं मनाते पर सूर्य भगवान को धन्यवाद कहना और छठ का प्रसाद खाना न भूलना ।

Why is this mahaparva of Chhath celebrated and the story behind it? 

Chhath is not just a festival, but a mahaparva, which lasts for a full four days. It begins with a bath, which ends with a longitude to the setting and rising sun. The festival is celebrated twice a year. First time in Chaitra and the second time in Kartik. Chhath Parv celebrated on Chaitra Shukla Paksha Shashti is called 'Chaitya Chhath' and Kartik Shukla Paksha Shashti is called 'Kartiki Chhath'. The festival is celebrated for family happiness and prosperity and desired fruits. It also has a different historical significance.

Mother Sita also worshipped Suryadev

According to the Puranas, when Ram-Sita returned to Ayodhya after 14 years of exile, he decided to perform the Rajasurya Yagna at the behest of the rishis and munis to get rid of the sin of Ravana's slaughter. He invited Mugdal Rishi for the puja. Mugdal Rishi sanctified Mother Sita by spraying Ganga water and ordered her to worship Suryadev on the 6th day of shukla paksha of Kartik Mas. This led Sita to stay in the ashram of Mugdal Rishi and worship The Sun God for six days. Saptami had received blessings from Suryadev by performing rituals again at sunrise.

When did chhath parv finally begin

According to Hindu belief, the legend goes that chhath parv started from the Mahabharata period. This festival was first started by Suryaputra Karna by worshipping the Sun. It is said that Karna was an ardent devotee of Lord Surya and he used to stand in the water for hours every day and give him a longitude. It was by the grace of the sun that he became a great warrior. Even today, the same tradition of aadhi daan is prevalent in Chhath. According to the Puranas, Draupadi had observed chhath vrat when the Pandavas lost all the rajpath in gambling. This fast had fulfilled their wishes and the Pandavas got everything back. According to folk tradition, Surya Dev and Maya VI are related to brothers and sisters. Therefore, the worship of the sun on the occasion of Chhath was considered fruitful.

Worship is also performed abroad 

The sun is worshipped in India as well as in many countries including the US, Japan. People of Central America worship the sun as tonetihu. It is believed that the sun gives prosperity to crops and life to humans. That's where the sun is worshipped as a mother in Japan. She is also considered to be the goddess of the entire universe. They have a temple on The Island of Honshu in Japan. The sun is also considered god in Iran. Greeks and Romans consider Mitradev, also mentioned in Hindu puranas, to be a symbol of the sun. The 'friend' is believed to have originated on December 25 within a cave in the universe itself and is not controlled by anyone. The rising sun in Egypt is called the Sun of Horus Afternoon. According to the Egyptians, the world is ruled by Ra, and it is guarding the whole world for the head of the hawk and protecting man from the asuras. In Greek sagas, Apollo was given the status of God, but he did not appear with the chariot of the sun. On the other hand, the Romans compared Apalo to the sun and were worshipped as the sun. People continued to connect with it because of the importance of Mahaparva Chhath. People working outside also return home on this occasion and this mahaparva is celebrated with the entire family. Chhath Puja is held on the sixth day of Diwali every year. This year too, the enthusiasm of the people for Chhath Puja is at its peak.
